Here at Chermside Dental, our aim is to make our patient's visits a pleasant and comfortable experience. We understand that sometimes you might have questions regarding treatments and appointments. We have listed our Frequently Asked Questions to help answer any concerns you might have. If you have a question that you do not see listed below, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email.

Do you offer bulk billed treatments?

We do offer bulk-billed dental treatment for eligible children aged 2-17 under the current Queensland Government.Chermside Dental - Web Size (16).jpg To find out if your child is eligible, please give us a call on 3359 1611 with your medicare card number handy, and we can find out within 1-2 minutes. Easy as that!

Is bleeding gums normal?

In short, no. However it is easily remedied. The main reason that gums’ bleed is due to a build up of bacteria and plaque around the teeth and under the gums, which causes the gums to become quite upset and inflamed. This plaque will harder into tartar over the course of a few weeks, which makes it impossible to remove with at-home brushing and flossing. Bleeding gums can result in bone loss and loose teeth if left untreated. We strongly recommend seeing us at Chermside Dental Care for a gentle but comprehensive clean if you are experiencing bleeding gums.

Do I need to make an appointment or can I come to the practice without one?

Yes, we value our patient's time, so we prefer if appointments are made (Ph: 3359 1611) so that we can keep to schedule.

I'm absolutely terrified of the dentist. Can you help?

We work as a team to provide gentle, affordable and professional dental care. We also offer happy gas for our anxious patients (kids and adults alike!) which can really help take the edge off. How long have you been practising?

Our practice was established in 1957 by Dr. Stan Walsh, making us one of the oldest and most established practices in Queensland. This has allowed us to regularly invest into the latest technology, courses and equipment to ensure our patients always have the latest and best treatment one can offer. We have recently built a brand new surgery in late 2017 to ensure we continue to offer the best possible service we can imagine. Our staff are long-standing, with many staff having worked here for over 15 years. Our combined experience is to your advantage.

My dentist said I have to see a specialist. Can you help?

Specialists are fantastic for complex cases and we regularly work with specialists to obtain the best outcome for our patients. However we offer a range of services such as wisdom teeth extractions and dental implants, and we would love to be of help if possible. A consultation first would be recommended.Chermside Dental - Web Size (46).jpg
