Change your smile with Dental Implants

Dental Implants are a brilliant option for replacing missing teeth. It is an artificial tooth root made of titanium that a dentist gently places into your jaw.

Dental Implants have proven to be modern dentistry’s answer to many patients’ dental problems.

They look and feel very natural, and are relatively painless compared to an extraction.

How do I know if this is an option for me?

Dr. Fred will need to send you for a 3D xray to accurately assess your jaw bone and clinically examine your jaw.dental implants.jpg

What is involved in getting a dental implant?

Placing of the implants is carried out at the surgery, involving a simple operation under a normal local anaesthetic. Surprisingly, the surgery is very painless. Our patients often report having taken only a few panadol tablets the day after the surgery during our follow up calls. The healing process is painless, but relatively long. We recommend a 3 month healing period to maximise your success. After the 3 months, you can have the teeth/crowns placed. During this healing time, we will ensure you have a temporary tooth of course!

Does it work?

Yes. Under sterile conditions, surgery by our Implant Dentist, Dr Manfred Lagemann, who has a Masters in Clinical Dental Implants will result in success 98% of the time. With diligent patient maintenance, implants can last decades or more. Long-term studies continue to show great success rates at 10 year reviews which is fantastic.

How much does it cost?

We charge a competitive total fee of $4000-4500 from start to finish for the dental implant surgery and the final tooth on top after 12 weeks of healing. The range depends on the difficulty and whether additional bone grafting may be required. Dr. Fred has a special interest (and a Masters from Griffith University) in dental implants and has completed many cases over the years with a high success rate. The implants can be used to

1. support dentures to give them very firm retention, or

2. to replace teeth individually and in small spans

We always encourage you to seek a second professional opinion. All surgical and restorative procedures carry risks.
